GlycoCheck™ is a non-invasive medical device used to analyze the microvascular health by examining the glycocalyx. The glycocalyx is a microscopic gel-like layer that lines the endothelium (inner wall) of bloodvessels and is crucial for vascular health!
What is GlycoCaylx
The glycocalyx is a thin, fuzzy “sugar coat” made of carbohydrates, proteins, and sugars that covers the endothelium—the single layer of cells lining the inside of all blood vessels. It forms a gel-like mesh that sticks out from the cell surface like a protective net.On blood vessel walls, it serves as:
-
A physical shield against the force of flowing blood
-
A gatekeeper that controls what molecules and fluids can leak in or out
-
A flow sensor that detects blood movement and helps regulate vessel tone and blood pressure
-
An inflammation controller that prevents unnecessary white blood cell sticking
-
A natural anti-clotting layer that stops unwanted blood clots
Damage to the glycocalyx (from high blood pressure, diabetes, infection, or sepsis) leads to leaky vessels, inflammation, and higher risk of heart disease. A healthy glycocalyx is essential for smooth blood flow and vascular health.

GlycoCheck Screening

Make your appointment
Call to make and appointment to get checked. For the best results, do not eat for 6 hours prior. Do not have alcohol 24 hours prior. Do not use nicotine and caffeine for 8 hours prior. Hydrate well 24 hours prior. This helps to acheive a good base line reading.
How the test works
The test has you hold a specialized video microscope under your tongue. With the microscope in place, it captures real-time, high resolution images of blood flow in the capillaries. The screening test takes about 5 to 10 minutes. The computer then analyzes the video images. This part take about 5 to 10 minutes.
The results
Once the computer has analyzed you screening, the staff will go over your results with you and go over options to help improve your health if necessary. You will get a printed and or emailed report of your results.
